Google Sheets Copy/Paste

I'm having an issue that the Google Sheets Copy Paste functionality isn't capturing data but rather formulas. So when it is pasted, it's still subject to change if the underlying data is updated in the future.

Is there a workaround for this or can the functionality be modified to paste values vs. formulas? I cannot think of many scenarios where pasting the formulas would be helpful using an API connection.
