MMS Twilio Media URL Issue?

Good morning,

I am encountering difficulties with a Twilio MMS task. I am utilizing Creatomate to extract the URL Media link from a step, and everything functions seamlessly for Twilio. However, this has led to a loss of flexibility to manually paste my desired link. When I attempt manual pasting, Twilio responds by stating they are unable to open the link in order to send it to my previously selected recipient. This holds true even when I use a sharing link from Google Drive, despite granting access to the file for everyone with the link. My inquiry pertains to whether there are alternative options for functional links, ones that can be pasted or mapped from a prior step, and that are functional beyond the Creatomate application's URLs. I am aware that the format is MP4, and it successfully works with Creatomate-mapped links. However, Twilio seems to encounter difficulties when attempting to read or open my manually inserted link or links from different sources.

Below are relevant links and additional information for context:

Twilio Error Information: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Vdqw9Bnx-ovf9DEQ4g7JraESKs3ewd9v/view?usp=sharing

P.S. I acknowledge the error message indicates an exceeded carrier capacity, but the limit is 5MB and my message is only 1.1MB.

Hey @Bananajuice2002

The media URL provided will include media types like gif, png, and jpeg, which will display properly on the recipient's device. However, attempting to transmit a .mp4 file is encountering issues with Twilio's processing capability. Please note that supported file types (JPEG, PNG, GIF) have a media size limit of 5 MB, while other accepted media types are limited to 500KB.

Thank you for your response, @Supreme. However, the question remains: are there different ways to map or paste URLs with media that Twilio can read and send without any problems? Only the Creatomate mapped link worked for me. I'm wondering if there is another way, either through a different app or by manually pasting it?

For more acceptable URL types which get passed in Twillio's API, you should check their API documentation or can contact their support team.

Further, to convert the publically accessible Image file you can make use of the Imgur application in your workflow. For more applications like this, you can check it on our integration page - https://www.pabbly.com/connect/integrations/
