Pabbly Variables

Hi!
I had an Idea which required an API call with a token that had to be updated regularly. I figured that I would save it as a Pabbly Variable and call it and update it as needed. The problem is that it doesn't seem to work in this field:

looks like:

whare in the Query strings (bottom left) the token gives "abc-123" in the authorization header (top right) it just returns {{ClioToken}}
I can run the variable through a text formatter, but I want to know why it isn't working!
