Sending a URL to Monday.com
Status: Closed · Asked by caithnessbrochproject on · 0 views
The format for this is defined here: https://api.developer.monday.com/docs/link
{"url":"http://monday.com\",\"text\":\"go to monday!"}
The link I send gets returned as an invalid value.
The format sent is this:
{"url"=>"http://XXXX"}
I'm no expert on javascript but it seems that the only difference is the function assignment symbol. Is this critical? It doesn't look like there is a way around it.
The answer is to send the URL to a text field in Monday.com rather than a URL field
Hey @caithnessbrochproject
Could you please elaborate on your query once, also do let us the name of the workflow in which you are having such an issue?
I've changed the workflow now so the problem doesn't exist. As I said above, I changed the Monday.com to be a text field rather than a URL. It means you just see the URL rather than link text, but I don't care about that. Have you tried sending a URL to Monday.com?
The format sent by Pabbly is this
{"url"=>"http://XXXX"}
which is not accepted by Monday.com, where the XXXX is a real web address that I do not want to share.
Hey @caithnessbrochproject
We have tried the same at our end by passing the URL in the respective and it is working accordingly. Kindly the following short video for your above question.
Thanks for that analysis. You are right that I wasn't sending a link label and that is exactly the error I got.
Perhaps there could be an error trap within Pabbly so that you can't save the step with a URL unless the label is not empty?
Thank you for your help sir. I have changed my workflow and it now works perfectly.
Hey @caithnessbrochproject
We have checked the action step of Monday.com and it is configured correctly. Kindly check the following short recorded video for the same -
