Update email address in Mailerlite

Lars — Question ·

I read in a thread in Mailerlite's forum that it's possible to update a subscriber's email address via their API, so I attempted to accomplish this using the Mailerlite app in Connect. And it looks straightforward enough - find the subscriber using the lookup action, then update the email in the next action. Except it doesn't work - the old email address is still there after (test) execution. No error message, just nothing happening. Any ideas why this is so?

Thanks,
Lars.

Happy to. Can this be safely shared here without giving access to others?

Hey @Lars !

Can you once use the below mentioned step to update the email and check if this works for you instead of using the Advance update-

Do check and let us know about it.

Hey Subin, I'm sorry to say that this didn't help. No error in the workflow but the email address remains unchanged. Feel free to take a look at what the workflow looks like now. I first tested without the Get subscriber step and then added that just to make sure.

Hey @Lars !

Sure, we checked on our end and it seems the API cannot update on the basis of email for Mailerlite.

Can you provide us with the curl request for the same, so we can get it checked with the tech team for the possibilities.

Here's Mailerlite's reply with links to documentation.

You can find more information on this in the following API documentation links:

  1. Create Subscriber: API Documentation Link
  2. Update Subscriber: API Documentation Link

Hey @Lars !

The API Documentation reference which you have provided us is for Mailerlite.

And the Mailerlite which you are trying to work on is Mailerlite Classic.

Both Mailerlite are different.

If you have account with just Mailerlite, then you can use that for updating the email and check on it.

Do keep us updated.

Hey @Lars !

Based on the documentation you have provided, we have added "Updated Subscriber" action event in Mailerlite(Not Mailerlite Classic)-

Lars — Reply ·

Ok. The selection looks the same for ML Classic but it's not, then?

Arshil Ahmad — Reply ·

Please select the 'MailerLite' action application, where you will see the 'Update Subscriber' action event.
