Youtube Authorization permissions -- is there a read only option?
Status: Open · Asked by Ed Harmoush on · 0 views
Authorizing Pabbly Connect to perform Youtube action requires these permissions:

"See, edit, and permanently delete your Youtube VIdeos, ratings, comments and captions"
If my action only triggers when a new video is posted or when a new comment is posted, the permission to delete videos is not necessary. Is there a way to authorize a YT account without also giving delete and edit priveleges to the account?
Thanks.
Hi @erh,
The permission to delete videos is intended for users who want to use the YouTube: Delete Video action event. It is not possible to choose to give permissions for only specific tasks.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Hrmm, it seems like a big risk to allow edit previleges to the channel if no feature that uses edit priveleges is required.
Is it on Pably's roadmap to enable "minimum required permissions" when authorizing accounts?
As of now, we don't have that feature on our roadmap, but that is a good suggestion. We have a platform where you can suggest adding the 'Minimum Required Permissions' feature, and our developers will have a look at it. If possible, they may implement the feature down the line.

Rest assured, unless you yourself go and set up those action events in your Pabbly account, your channel will not be affected by these permissions.
