Email Verification Status
The email verification tool classifies each email address under the following categories:
Email Verification Status | Description | Can Send Email? |
---|---|---|
Deliverable | The email address exists and accepts emails, confirmed through SMTP communication. These addresses are valid and safe to send to. | Yes |
Undeliverable | The email address either does not exist or does not accept emails. Sending emails to invalid addresses will result in a bounce. | No |
Accept-all | These addresses cannot be definitively verified as their mail server accepts both valid and invalid addresses, making definitive verification impossible. | Maybe* |
Unknown | These emails could not be definitively verified as their mail servers were not reachable during verification. | Maybe* |
- *Maybe (Accept-all and Unknown): Depending on the overall list quality and the email service provider you are using, you can decide whether to send emails to these addresses. If you are using a third-party ESP, it is better to avoid sending emails to these addresses.
- Accept-all and Unknown Emails: These can sometimes be difficult to verify. If your email service provider (ESP) allows sending emails to these types of addresses, consider sending smaller batches to avoid any negative impact on your sender reputation.
- Disposables: These are temporary email addresses and should be avoided due to the high likelihood of them bouncing.
- Verified Lists Expiry: Verified email lists are automatically deleted after 90 days. Make sure to download your reports within this time frame to retain access.
- Unverified Lists Expiry: Unverified email lists are automatically deleted after 2 days.
