Hello. I followed this Youtube post to the letter but when a new post is published to my blog, the automation doesn't kick off. I have included a screenshot of the first bit below. However, when I manually go through to test the automation, it will work. I need this to work "automatically" when a new blog is published on a site.

Hey @rodwaymore

Kindly make a new workflow in the same manner and let us know if it works for you after setting up.

The automation did NOT trigger at all as expected so I have still have an issue with the automation triggering automatically.

Could you please share the Workflow URL where you're experiencing this issue? Also, let us know whether you're creating the blog on Blogger or WordPress.

I'm creating the blog on Wordpress. You can see the wordpress connection screenshot that I shared earlier in this thread. The blog is located at https://blog.celestialdigitalservices.com. I've made all the connections and test connections when creating the workflow and it works fine. If I manually initiate it, it works fine. However, it is my understanding that it is SUPPOSED to run automatically after it has been setup and it doesn't. What workflow url are you referring to? I don't think you'd have access to my actual workflow but here is the link - https://connect.pabbly.com/workflow/mapping/IjU3NjYwNTY5MDYzZTA0M2M1MjZmNTUzNjUxMzci_pc

Hello @rodwaymore,

Could you try capturing the WordPress Post in webhook.site and check if the responses are also not getting captured there?
  • If the responses are not captured, the issue is likely from WordPress’s end and we recommend contacting them once regarding the issue.
  • If not, please provide us with the webhook.site URL so we can investigate further.
You can refer to this tutorial for a better understanding of how to use webhook.site:

I guess I'm not really understanding what the ask is here. When I built the workflow, you can ONLY advance AFTER you have received a response from the blog. This is how you are able to then map the fields that you want to capture. As I stated before, if I manually go through the workflow and click on the "Recapture Webhook Response" button, everything works as expected. It just does NOT do this automatically even though it is supposed to. The webhook site url is https://blog.celestialdigitalservic...wpwhprovrs=send-data&wpwh-trigger=post_create.
I'm really not quite sure what you are asking for or how you would be able to investigate further without gaining some kind of admin access to my wordpress website.

Hello @rodwaymore,

The trigger you are using is a descriptive, webhook-based trigger. The responses for such triggers are entirely dependent on the trigger application's behavior.

To help test this, we suggested capturing the response using webhook.site. You can do this by generating a new webhook URL from webhook.site and installing it as an additional webhook in your setup. The tutorial we previously shared will guide you through this process.

Once configured, please check whether new WordPress posts are being captured in real-time at webhook.site.

  • If they are, kindly let us know.
  • If they are not, we recommend reaching out to the WordPress support team, as the issue may lie within their system.
Let us know how it goes, and we’ll be happy to assist further if needed.

Just to clarify, I am a novice user of Pabbly. You state above that I should generate and install an additional webhook in my setup but I only seem to be able to have a single trigger. How can I add an additional webhook? Also the video looks much different from my version of Pabbly Connect. I was able to create the test (which worked) but I don't see how to add it as an additional webhook in my setup.

The steps suggested here are solely for testing purposes to verify whether the response (blog) from WordPress is being captured on Webhook.site. We haven't asked you to generate or install an additional webhook in your workflow setup, so I am not sure where that came from.

We are simply suggesting that you connect your WordPress account to Webhook.site (a third-party application entirely unrelated to Pabbly Connect) and attempt to capture a blog there. This will help you determine whether blogs are being sent from WordPress. If they are not getting captured on Webhook.site either, it confirms that WordPress is not sending them.

We would like to reiterate that the WordPress trigger is based on descriptive webhooks, and Pabbly Connect has no control over the data that WordPress sends to us. If your workflows are not being triggered automatically, it means that the blog is not being sent from WordPress’s end.

I have copied and pasted your response to me earlier and highlighted the text in red and bold where you said to install an additional webhook in my setup.

I will try again based on the new information that you sent me BUT you DID say to install as an additional webhook in my setup. Not quite sure how you can say that you didn't write that.

Apologies for the miscommunication. I meant to clarify that there is no need to install an additional webhook in your workflow setup within Pabbly Connect. I mentioned this to clear up any confusion regarding the statement about the workflow having only one trigger step.

The additional webhook setup that my colleague Preeti mentioned earlier refers to WordPress and Webhook.site, and it is not related to your workflow in Pabbly Connect.
