Schedule from Google Sheet to Social Media

Hi,

Has anyone set up an automation be set up to grab text and url from a Google Sheet and post it to a social media account?

Use Case: I have the text description and urls for my YouTube videos in a Google Sheet. At the moment, I am manually copying and pasting them to LinkedIn.

I have a few hundred rows of entries for these videos in my Google Sheet.

If anyone has an example of such an automation or suggestions on how to set it up, please share.

Thanks.

You can build something like this using Scheduler with Google Sheets "LookUp Rows" option. The Google Sheets step will all grab text and URL, which can then be posted over Social Media accounts -

You can go through this tutorial to know how to use Google Sheets Lookup rows method -

Hi, thanks for your response.

I think I still need further clarification.

In my Google Sheet, I have the information in three columns. I have text in two columns and the url in another column.

So I normally add text from Column 1, add a space, add text from Column 2, add another space, then add the url from Column 3, then I schedule it.

I am not searching for a particular entry - I want to take the information from the three columns and schedule it to my social media account.

Can I still set up the automation if my Google Sheet is set up that way?

I have over 700 rows of data, where each row is the details for a piece of content, in this case the description of the video and its url.

Changing the Sheet will be a lengthy process, so maybe there is a step that needs to happen first to have the layout of the Sheet to make it easier for the automation to be set up.

Thanks.

You can make the workflow accordingly by following steps -

1. Use the Tigger as Google Sheets with " New Spreadsheet Row " which will fetch the data automatically from your Sheet, whenever new data is being entered.

For better understanding for setting this step, please watch this video here( just to set up the Google Sheets Trigger) -

2. After getting the data from the previous step, you can map those data to be published over your LinkedIn account under the action step -

Once you're done with mapping the data in the LinkedIn action step, click on the "Save and Send Request" which will post the data in your Linkedin feed.

That's it. Your workflow is all set. So next time, whenever you add data in your Google Sheet it will be posted directly your LinkedIn account feed,

Hi, thanks for the update.

I understand most of it, however I would like to clarify a few things.

1. After data is extracted, each row represents data for one video. And I want only one video scheduled per day. How do I set this condition?

2. And I need it to start scheduling from 01 June 2021 and scheduled one video per day at 6.30am.

3. Can spaces be added between the data from the three columns? Otherwise they will be lumped together, which will not read well.

As I understand it, to select a range, I only choose data in the three columns. Since there are a few hundred rows of data, there isn't really an end date, as I am scheduling one video per day. How do I take this into account?

Thanks again.

We have created a sample workflow for you. You can clone it here - https://connect.pabbly.com/workflow/share/DUUFN1ALAGFRGghMBlFWfl1OAzQGWgY8UUEIAQNmUxU#

Here's the Google Sheet which we have made considering your case - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ouiOCjLz09eAtZ_KOX5rBZpID3gvHMKfT9JORJZQteg/edit?usp=sharing

In Google Sheet, you will be needing to have one extra column where you need to enter the date of posting.

So the whole workflow will not check for the date of posting, copy the data associated with that row which is text and URL link, and then will post over your LinkedIn account.

Please go through it and try it once.

Hi,

Thank you for the sample workflow. I cloned it and changed the url of one video in the Google Sheet (after adding it to my account) as they were both the same.

I got an error in the last action, as per attached screenshot. The url does not match what I had entered in the Sheet for 05-05-2021.

I reconnected my LinkedIn account.
We are checking the following workflow - "Posting over Linkedin - Test 1"

It seems fine to us. Can you check this at your end, please?

Further have you revoked your LinkedIn account access since we can see the following error -

It looks like the test you did from your end posted on my LinkedIn account. I deleted it this morning.

I don't know why that message is showing. I have connected and reconnected my LinkedIn account multiple times. I'm seeing the same error in the LinkedIn action step as previously.

We have updated your Workflow and saved it for you. Don't make any changes in the workflow for today.

Once the task execution is done according to your scheduled time of 6.45am, do let us know what you are getting.

If it still gets an error, accordingly we will assist you.

The only thing I did was to turn on the workflow and added two more rows to the Google Sheet.

This is the Task History ID: IjE3Nzg3ODE1Ig_3D_3D

This is the error message, which I don't know why it's the case because I have connected my LinkedIn account.

{
"serviceErrorCode": 65601,
"message": "The token used in the request has been revoked by the user",
"status": 401
}

This error seems to be associated with the LinkedIn end. They must have some time limit for the token which is generated when you authorize your LinkedIn account.

We are getting in touch with the LinkedIn team regarding the same and will update you once we hear from them.
