This is meant to be constructive feedback. I realise most of the additional tasks I have to create on Pabbly are free. But adding free tasks to a workflow makes it bigger, more complicated and harder to troubleshoot. I also realise Pabbly is much cheaper than zapier, and this is why I want Pabbly to become better.
The Time Before option does not exist on Pabbly. That means I have to create a task to subtract an hour, and another task to add a delay. +2 tasks.
The Pretty option does not exist on Pabbly. That means I have to create a task to format the date the way I want it to appear in the sms. +1 task.
Even though Pabbly picks up the event start time from google calendar in its correct format, it converts it to UTC+0. That means I have to create an additional task to add 3 hours (UTC+3) +1 task
No obvious way to run javascript or python code. That means I have to create a task to remove spaces from summary and other task to extract the phone number. + 2 tasks
- In Pabbly, it took 13 tasks to send an sms reminder 1 hour before a google calendar event.
- In Zapier it took 3 steps to perform the exact same task.
The bottom line is that both platforms charged me for 2 tasks only because on Pabbly most of the tasks are free (only the Delay and API are charged) and on Zapier all tasks are charged (except the trigger). And Zapier is more expensive per task.
But it was sooo much easier and sooo much simpler to perform the same task on Zapier and this is something I really want to see on Pabbly also.
Please don't take this post the wrong way. I'm actually paying to use Pabbly, but I have reviewed a lot of software integration platforms lately, and there's a reason Zapier is considered one of (if not the) best. I hope Pabbly takes the necessary steps to become simpler and easier to use.
