Which OpenAI model supports search preview with responses API?

I authorize Pabbly Support to log in to my account and make changes to the specified workflow for troubleshooting.

Recently saw that now we have new actions in openAI connection like 'Generate Responses using Web Search (response API).

My understanding is that now we can do web research using openAI using this action. However, the new mode 'Responses API' doesn't support all models of openAI.

When I try to run it with a prompt, it turns an error : "The requested model 'gpt-4o-mini-search-preview-2025-03-11' is not supported with the Responses API."
I tried with multiple models but couldn't make it work.

When I tweak processing mode settings to immediate (for getting response without response API), I am getting a warning : "

Can you guys please guide me on how to make it work? Any video or tutorial?

Also, while at it, can you also suggest what is the ideal delay time between placing a request to open AI and retriving it via Response ID?

Hello @arsachdeva,

The error occurred because the model gpt-5-search-api-2025-10-14 does not support the web_search_preview tool.

Please switch to a supported model such as gpt-4.1 or gpt-4o-mini, and then try running the action again. This should resolve the issue.

Also, GPT 4.1 or 4o is not giving desired response. Just generic information which is not related to my query (so no web search performed). Worth tinkering and solving this out.
That was my original question - which model will the web search support for actual search results/responses.

A delay of 5 minutes should be enough. You may try improving the instructions under the Generate Response Using Web Search (Response API) to get better results.
