The Canonical URL always results in a page not found on WP. It's using the post ID in the URL but should it not use the
Post name as in https://website.com/sample-post/ ?

You can try using the Search a Post by ID action step once which will take the Post ID that you can map from the WordPress's trigger response.

This will help you get the Permalink. Please try it and let us know if that works for you.
