Google Calendar run trigger 1 hour before event

I have added a Google Calendar trigger on "Event Started". But I need to know about the event 1 hour before it starts.

The reason I need to know 1 hour before is because I will add an API call to send an SMS message as a reminder.

How can I configure it so the trigger runs 1 hour before the event starts?

I have seen this on other integration platforms like this

Thanks

Hey @aristosv

Please check out the following screenshot to make the action step to make the delay 1 hour prior to the start time.

Thank you for the reply.

The problem here is that 3 more tasks are added to the operation. And each operation will run every hour. And there's 10 clients to process, and I need to do the same with a 24 hour delay also.

That's 1440 operations just to add a delay. Whereas on other platforms it's a simple option of adding a delay.

Unfortunately this increases the cost by a lot and it's a dealbreaker.

Thanks for the information though.

Out of the 3 action steps only the Delay action step is consumable.

To clarify, when an action is labeled as "Free Task", it means that it won't be subtracted from the total available tasks? Irrelevant if I have a free or paid account?

For some reason it's not working though. I set up a new event in google calendar 1 hour into the future, but I'm not receiving an SMS

Hey @aristosv !

That's correct, when a step has a highlight with "Free Task", it won't be calculated for the task chargeable.

Furthermore here's the definition of the task -

Any action being performed inside your workflow is considered a task. Triggers are not calculated in the tasks. Only the action steps are calculated in the task counts. Additionally, internal tasks of the Pabbly Connect such as Filter, Router, Formatter, etc are not counted as a task.

For example: If you send one lead from Facebook Lead Ad to MailChimp. It will be counted as a single task. If you have a multi-step automation workflow, it will be counted depending upon the number of action steps. For example: If you send one lead from Facebook Lead Ad to MailChimp and then sent the same lead to Google Sheets. It will be counted as 2 tasks. Learn more about task here -

Also for the Google Calendar concern, kindly create a new workflow from scratch once and try to check on it by doing a test submission.

Do check and let us know, if it works for you now.

Hope, to hear from you soon.

I created a new workflow from scratch (without any delays to avoid complicating things) and set a new google calendar event for 16:05 local time. The trigger detected it corectly.

But the workflow did not run. The task history is empty also.
