Google Slides "Refresh a Chart" doesn't update

I have a google slides template that I want to update the charts on. The google sheets where the chart is pulled from has no problem updating, but I cannot figure out how to update the chart. When I click on Chart Object IDChart Object ID no charts are listed and I cannot figure out where to find the Chart Object ID number.

Was this resolved. If so, can one of you please share how was this done? I am looking for a similar solution only that I was hoping to bring the charts into a Google Docs template. Else I can try the Google Slides solution.

I am afraid the use case you are describing is currently not possible.
