HighLevel Update Contact Tag Issue

I'm trying to update a contact and include a tag. When I add just the new tag it deletes the other tags that are already on the contact in HighLevel. When I try to map the tags it won't format them correctly as they have to be enclosed "like this" but there are multiple tags all coming in.

I think this is a bug. If so, can you help to fix this? If not, what's the solution?

Hey @almacartney

With the help of the Search Contact action event, you can search the user's assigned previously added tags which you can map further in your Update Contact's Tag field.

Please check out the following screenshot for better understanding, although we have done the workaround in your workflow for hassle-less workflow. Kindly give it a try and let us know if that works for you.

Wow. This level of support and doing this for me while showing me how so I can do this in the future is amazing. Thank you very much indeed.

However, this is quite complicated for what could be just one simple step. In Zapier I don't need to do any of this. Could it be better to update your system to not delete existing tags?

Hey @almacartney

We understand your concern and we are currently working on it. But as of now, two steps are being required to update the required tags.

Since Go High Level team must be providing special resource access to Zapier, they are able to customize the Update Contact action event.

On other hand, we can only take the directions through their API documentation where they haven't mentioned how can we resolved such overwriting or updating the contact completely.

Hence we have to come up with a workaround where you can simplify the updating tag issue.

Hi all, I have found an issue with this - there doesn't seem to be an option to parse ALL the tags in GHL, only however many the test user has.

So for example, I 'search user' - the next step adds the 'tag 0, tag1' from the original search, plus the new tags

If a user has more than 2 tags, those will still get deleted.

I hope this makes sense. I do not see any way to work around this, but it's essential I be able to have users keep their tags in GHL and not have pabbly wipe them out if they happen to have more than x number of tags. Please advise, thanks!

Your concern is being addressed here:

Leadconnector V2 -> add tag -> replace all tags ???

Hello it seems that when a "leadconnector V2" action is performed with a tag added , it actually removes all the tags from the contact in GHL + adds the tag ... instead of adding the tag on top of the other tags that are already associated to the contact ??? It should not remove all the tags ...
