Some Tasks in a Workflow May Not Be Needed

Total rookie here so please be kind!

I have a WPForm that will, through conditional logic, request the user to upload one file or another file, but not both. I have set up my task with both uploads expected, which of course, is causing failures on the task that doesn't receive an upload from my WPForm.

How can I ignore specific tasks when the form doesn't require one of the files? Hopefully that makes sense.
