FluentCRM and LearnDash integration: What if username is already taken?

Hello support,

I have FluentCRM on WP installation 1 connected to LearnDash on WP installation 2. When a specific tag in FluentCRM is applied to a contact, a new user is created in Wordpress installation 2 and the user is enrolled in a specific course in LearnDash.

This works.

However, the workflow breaks down if the user (contact's email address) on the WP installation 2 already exists and/or the username (contact's first name) is already taken.

How can I implement the following:

1) if the username (contact's first name) is already taken, amend it with the first few letters of the last name? Or just use the first part of the email address (before the @) as the username?

2) if the user (contact's email address) is already registered, enroll the existing user to the LearnDash course?

Can anyone please help me with that?

Kind regards,
Rafael

Hi @RafaelJ,

1) if the username (contact's first name) is already taken, amend it with the first few letters of the last name? Or just use the first part of the email address (before the @) as the username?
It is not possible to set a condition for the username issue you are describing. You can include part of the email address along with the first name for each new user created in your WordPress account to ensure that each username is unique, or use any other combination of your choice. Setting the specific condition you mentioned, however, is not possible.

2) if the user (contact's email address) is already registered, enroll the existing user to the LearnDash course?
You can setup your workflow in this manner to achieve this desired use case:
