Pabbly Connect: Threads API Access Setup

Pabbly Connect allows applications to securely access the Threads API by configuring a Facebook Developer App and retrieving the required credentials. Follow the steps below to configure access safely.

PART 1​

Prerequisite: Initial Requirements

These are the prerequisites before you can actually access the Threads API:

• You must have a Facebook Business account and an Instagram Business Account.
• Your Facebook and Instagram accounts should be connected to each other.

PART 2​

Step-by-Step: Creating and Configuring your Facebook Developer App

1. Log in to Facebook Developer Account:

• Visit: https://developers.facebook.com/apps/
• Click on the “Create App” button.
  
  
  
  
  

2. Enter App Details:

• Enter your “App name” and “App contact email” in the “App details” section.
  

3. Configure Use Case:

• In the “Use cases” section, choose the “Access the Threads API” option.
  
  
  
  
  

4. Business Portfolio:

• In the “Business” section, either choose a preexisting business or select the “I don’t want to connect a business portfolio yet” option.
  
  
  
  
  
• Click on the “Next” button in the “Requirements” section.
  
  
  
  
  

5. Dashboard Setup:

• In the “Overview” section, click the “Go to dashboard” button.
  
  
  
  
  
• From your Dashboard, navigate to the “Customize the Access the Threads API use case” section.
  
  
  
  
  
• Click the “+Add”button for the following scopes:
  
  • threads_basic
  • threads_read_replies
  • threads_delete
  • threads_manage_mentions
    

6. Configure Redirect URLs:

• Go to the “Settings”section and enter the following details:
  
  • Redirect Callback URLs: https://connect.pabbly.com/callback-url
  • Uninstall Callback URL: https://connect.pabbly.com/callback-url
  • Delete Callback URL: https://connect.pabbly.com/callback-url

PART 3​

Step-by-Step: Finalizing App Settings and Connecting to Pabbly

1. App Basic Settings:

• Navigate to “App Settings” > “Basic”.
• Enter the following URLs:
  
  • App domains: pabbly.com
  • Privacy policy URL: https://www.pabbly.com/privacy-policy/
  • Terms of Service URL: https://www.pabbly.com/terms-conditions/
  • User data deletion: https://forum.pabbly.com/threads/pabbly-connect-user-data-deletion.32568/
    
    

2. Data Protection Information:

• Scroll down and enter the “Data Protection Officer contact information” according to your application requirements.

3. Retrieve Credentials:

• While still in the “App settings” > “Basic”section:
  
  • Copy the “Threads app ID”.
  • Copy the “Threads app secret”.

4. Connect to Pabbly:

• Paste these credentials respectively into the connection window in Pabbly Connect to finalize the integration.
