Pabbly not recognizing images in "Replace Images of a Document" action for Google Docs
Status: Open · Asked by George Halitzka on · 0 views
Hello George,
Thanks for following up and for confirming that you already tried removing and re-adding the image in the template.
The expected fix for the image-replacement field not appearing is exactly what was suggested earlier — removing and re-adding the image in the Template document, then re-checking whether the field to replace the image appears. Since you've already done that and the fields are still missing, could you confirm is there any kind of mask that you have applied to the document? Cause the real image that you have added as the placeholder is coloured, but when we access it through the document, it shows in black and white.

Hi Adeel, I reinserted the photo without changing it to black and white. (The only change I made in Google Docs was resizing it.) Unfortunately, Pabbly still is not showing any fields for image replacement. I have given you Edit access to the Google Docs template so that you can try a different image yourself if you think it might help! Thanks again for your help and support on this.
Hello George,
We have fixed the template by re-adding all the images. Try not to use Drawing in the template. We added it as an image, and it is now showing in the action step.

Hi Adeel, thank you for fixing the template document! Can you help me understand better how you accomplished the fix?
(1) Did you simply cut the images from the document and then paste them in place, or was there more do it than that?
(2) What do you mean by not using Drawing in the template? What element in the design caused the problem?
The reason I ask is that I have two other workflows with very similar functions and very similar template documents that are also not working properly, so I'd like to know how to go about fixing them. Thank you!
Hello George,
We downloaded both of the top images from the document and then uploaded them again. The 3rd one was created in the document using the Drawing tool, as shown below. We converted it to an image by taking a screenshot and then uploaded it again. Below is the particular image.

Thanks & Regards,
