Hey, I trust all is well?

Is there anyway to stop the chat bot via the WhatsApp app without using pabbly intervene on chat flow? I wanted my bot to reply with a menu each a customer messages, ie Support options and it follow that flow. But doing this just kind of loops or adds the options again if customer replies as its set to reply all or doesn't work how it should.

in order to try and intervene I tried making a command but that command will only work if the customer puts it. Am I missing something or is there no option from the WhatsApp app?

thank you

Hi @victor_lock,

Thank you for your message.

Currently, changing the chat status automatically from the WhatsApp Business app (to stop the bot) is not possible. There is no direct option within the WhatsApp app to pause or disable the chatbot without using Pabbly Chatflow intervention.

To achieve your use case (sending a support menu without looping), you can follow this approach:

  • Keep the chat status as Open.
  • Do not assign an AI Assistant to the flow.
  • Create a flow that triggers when a user sends a message.
  • Send a WhatsApp template containing your support menu options.
  • Based on the option the user selects, continue the flow accordingly using conditions/filters.
This way, the bot will not continuously loop the menu, and the flow will progress based on the user’s selected option.

Please let us know if you would like guidance on setting up this structure.

ok thank you I will give that a go, for the flow that is triggered via a message. is it via keygen or when user sends message? As I am not sure if that option is just triggered for only a one off message then never again? Thank you for the reply :)

Hi @victor_lock,

You can use “Keyword/regex match” as the trigger and set a specific keyword (e.g., 1, menu, support, etc.).

Please note:
  • “User Starts Conversation” triggers only the first time a user initiates the chat and gets added to your inbox.
  • If the chat already exists and the user messages again later, that trigger will not fire.
So in your case, using a keyword-based trigger would be the better option.
