Facebook Lead Ads workflows are triggering old leads and sending repeated emails

Netclues Marketing — Question ·

We are facing an issue with multiple Facebook Lead Ads → Gmail workflows in Pabbly Connect. On 21 Sep 2026 around 4:50 PM IST, workflows started executing automatically without any manual testing or re-execution. Some old leads received earlier this month were triggered again, and test emails were also sent repeatedly to clients.

The Facebook trigger being used is Facebook Lead Ads – New Lead. We checked Task History and found an example where a workflow was executed on 21 Sep, but the Facebook lead's Created_time was 26 Jun 2026, indicating that an old lead was processed again.

Some executions are also showing partial/failed tasks with a Gmail 401 error.

1. We need your help to identify:

  1. 2. Why previously processed/old Facebook leads are triggering the workflows again.
  2. 3. Why test emails are being generated repeatedly without manual testing.
  3. 4. Whether activating one workflow can cause other active workflows to execute unexpectedly.
  4. 5. Whether any pending/backlogged executions could trigger again after we reactivate the workflows.
  5. 6. The safest way to reactivate these workflows without sending unwanted emails to clients or affecting live campaigns.

We have currently paused all affected workflows until we receive clarification.

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the detailed information.

The behavior you experienced was due to an ongoing issue with the Facebook Lead Ads integration caused by recent API updates from Meta. This resulted in previously processed/old leads being triggered again in some workflows.

We’re glad to inform you that the issue has recently been fixed by our team.

We recommend reactivating your affected workflows and closely monitoring the upcoming lead executions. Please check whether new leads are being processed as expected without any duplicate or unexpected executions.

If you continue to experience any duplicate leads, unexpected executions, or other issues, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to investigate further.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

the Facebook Lead Ads integration was also not able to produce a new "test lead". It only has produced an older "real lead" from the meta ad.

is this problem already solved?

Thank you

Hi Birte,

Thank you for reaching out.

The Facebook Lead Ads issue has recently been fixed by our team. Could you please try using the Test Lead/Test Request function again now and check whether it works as expected?

If you are still unable to generate a new test lead, please share a screenshot of the error or the screen you see while testing. This will help us investigate the issue further.

Thanks and Regards,
