Phone number field not working correctly

I can't add clients' phone numbers using basic country codes.

A phone number formatted like this: +44123456789 doesn't work.
Is that a bug or is it designed this way?
Seems like a pretty big oversight

Hello Daniel,
Kindly let us know from where you are adding the phone number like from a checkout page or while manually creating a customer/invoice or in the client portal.
