Hi Pabbly Support team,

I'm reaching out about unusually high task consumption on one of my workflows, following an inconclusive conversation with your chatbot this morning (transcript available on request).

Account email: [email hidden]
Workflow name: AHTS Webinar - Shorten Join Link
Task History ID (prefix): IjU3NjYwNTZjMDYzZTA0...

The setup: This workflow has a Zoho Sheet "Update Column" trigger watching a single column (column index 7) on a sheet that has only 64 rows of real data. It feeds into a Short.io "Create Short Link" action and a Zoho Sheet "Update Row" action — 3 steps total.

The issue: My dashboard shows this single workflow has consumed 11,912 tasks (5,956 of them free tasks) since being turned on. Task History shows dozens of "Success" runs clustered within a single 6-second window on Aug 16, 2026 (roughly 13:21:04 through 13:21:10), each logged as a separate 2-3 step task consumption.

Given the sheet only has 64 rows of real data, even a full one-time backfill across every existing row would account for roughly 150-200 tasks at most. The gap between that and 11,912 is significant and, as far as I can tell, unexplained by anything on my end — there are no other triggers or conditions on this workflow, and no error messages logged.

What I'd like help with:

  1. An explanation of what caused this workflow to fire so many times in such a short window
  2. Confirmation of whether this reflects genuine executions, or a bug in how the "Update Column" trigger scanned the sheet
  3. A credit or adjustment to my task balance, given the scale of the discrepancy relative to the actual data involved

I have a screenshot of the Task History log showing the clustered executions, and can share my sheet structure if that's useful for your investigation.

Thanks for looking into this.
