Upgrading the subscription
When a customer moves from a lower-priced plan to a higher-priced plan, it's referred to as "upgrading the subscription." For instance, if a customer initially subscribes to a recurring billing plan at $100 per month but requests to switch to a $150 per month plan, this is considered an upgrade of their subscription.How to upgrade the subscription?
To upgrade the subscription, please follow these steps:
- Go to the subscription section.
- Hover over the customer's subscription that you wish to upgrade.
- Locate the three vertical dots, and when you click on them, you will be presented with the option to upgrade or downgrade the subscription, as demonstrated below.
After selecting the "Upgrade" option, the following page will be displayed, where you can enter the necessary details to upgrade the customer's subscription plan.
Please enter the following details like:
When to apply changes
- Apply the changes immediately or schedule for the next billing date or Immediately
- End of this term: Since it is a One-time plan, the end of the term will not work here.
Select the payment method to collect payments for this subscription.
- Offline Payment / Create Invoice: Choose this offline payment method to create the offline/manual subscription for any customer. The invoice status would be sent. You can record the invoice from the invoice section. Or you can create an invoice and send this to your customer to collect the payment.
- Credit Card: This option only works with the Stripe gateway, either to add a new card or to display existing.
How to Downgrade the subscription?
To upgrade the subscription, please follow these steps:
- Go to the subscription section.
- Hover over the customer's subscription that you wish to downgrade.
- Locate the three vertical dots, and when you click on them, you will be presented with the option to upgrade or downgrade the subscription, as demonstrated below.
For this to downgrade you have to choose the lower plan then the current plan.
Fill the details and the plan will be downgraded successfully.
